About this recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Combo Fortune Rice Bran 1L & Mustard Oil 1L Pet
  • 1 Kg Red Lotus Special Flour
  • 10 kg Pansari Fresh Chakki Atta (0% Maida)
  • 1 kg Akar Powder Salt

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large bowl, sift together 2 cups whole wheat flour, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  2. 2. Add 2 tablespoons oil and 2/3 cup water to the dry ingredients. Stir until the mixture forms a dough ball.
  3. 3. Knead the dough on a clean surface until it becomes smooth and elastic, about 3 minutes.
  4. 4. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  5. 5. Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into a circle about 6 to 7 inches in diameter. Keep the rolled-out dough covered with a clean towel to prevent drying.
  6. 6. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Place one flatbread on the skillet and cook for 1 minute on each side, or until light brown spots appear.
  7. 7. Stack the cooked flatbreads and cover them with a clean towel to keep warm.
  8. 8. Serve the flatbreads immediately with your favorite Jain-friendly accompaniments.
