Whole Wheat Jain Flatbreads Recipe

These soft and wholesome flatbreads are perfect for a Jain dinner. Made with a mix of whole wheat and white flour, they are quick to prepare and pair well with a variety of dishes.
Ingredients
- 1 Combo Fortune Rice Bran 1L & Mustard Oil 1L Pet
- 1 Kg Red Lotus Special Flour
- 10 kg Pansari Fresh Chakki Atta (0% Maida)
- 1 kg Akar Powder Salt
Instructions
- 1. In a large bowl, sift together 2 cups whole wheat flour, and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
- 2. Add 2 tablespoons oil and 2/3 cup water to the dry ingredients. Stir until the mixture forms a dough ball.
- 3. Knead the dough on a clean surface until it becomes smooth and elastic, about 3 minutes.
- 4. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
- 5. Using a rolling pin, flatten each ball into a circle about 6 to 7 inches in diameter. Keep the rolled-out dough covered with a clean towel to prevent drying.
- 6. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Place one flatbread on the skillet and cook for 1 minute on each side, or until light brown spots appear.
- 7. Stack the cooked flatbreads and cover them with a clean towel to keep warm.
- 8. Serve the flatbreads immediately with your favorite Jain-friendly accompaniments.
