  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • 500 g Onion
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 250 g Carrot
  • 300 g Ginger Paste
  • 250 ml Olive Oil
  • 500 g Capsicum Green
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • 50G Green Chilies
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash the moong dal thoroughly and soak it for 30 minutes. Drain the water before cooking.
  2. 2. Cook the moong dal in a pot with enough water and a pinch of turmeric until soft but not mushy. Set aside.
  3. 3. Heat olive oil on a tawa or a flat pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  4. 4. Add the chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Stir in the ginger paste and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. 5. Add the chopped tomatoes, green chilies, and a pinch of salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft and the oil starts to separate.
  6. 6. Mix in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Cook for another 2 minutes to ensure the spices are well blended.
  7. 7. Add the capsicum and carrot, and sauté for 3-4 minutes until they are slightly tender but still crunchy.
  8. 8. Reduce the heat and add the cooked moong dal to the pan. Stir well to combine, and adjust the salt as needed.
  9. 9. Sprinkle garam masala and fresh coriander leaves on top. Mix gently and cook for another 2 minutes.
