Theplas, a Gujarati specialty made with whole wheat flour and fenugreek leaves, are paired with chunks of marinated paneer cooked to golden perfection on a tawa. Ingredients
- 200 g Paneer
- 1 Kg Lokwan Premium Wheat Atta 1 Kg
- 200 g Dahi
- 300 g Ginger Paste
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- - Coriander Powder
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 50G Green Chilies
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Methi
Instructions
- 1. In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, chopped methi leaves, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/4 tsp red chili powder, salt, and yogurt. Gradually add water and knead into a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 2. In another bowl, marinate the paneer cubes with 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, and 1/2 tsp salt. Let the paneer rest for 10 minutes.
- 3. Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin, round thepla using a rolling pin and some dry flour to prevent sticking.
- 4. Heat a tawa or flat skillet and cook each thepla on medium heat, applying a few drops of oil on both sides, until golden brown spots appear. Set aside.
- 5. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add the marinated paneer cubes and cook on medium heat, turning occasionally, until golden and slightly crisp on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- 6. Serve the methi theplas warm alongside the spiced tawa paneer for a wholesome and delicious breakfast.
