Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • - Rice Flour
  • 200 g Dahi
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil
  • medium Chilli Green Long

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 4-5 hours or overnight.
  2. 2. Drain the soaked dal and blend it with yogurt into a smooth batter, adding minimal water if required.
  3. 3. Transfer the batter to a bowl and mix in rice flour, cumin seeds, green chili, turmeric powder, red chili powder, lemon juice, salt, and chopped coriander leaves. Ensure a lump-free consistency.
  4. 4. Heat a tawa or non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.
  5. 5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it evenly into a thin circle using the back of the ladle.
  6. 6. Cook the dosa for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden and crisp. Flip and cook for another minute if desired.
  7. 7. Remove from the tawa and repeat with the remaining batter. Serve hot with coconut chutney or mint yogurt dip.
