Ingredients
- 500 Grms Bajra Atta Millets Atta 500 Grms
- 200 ml Ghee
- 500 g Onion
- 250 g Carrot
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 250 g French Beans
- - Green Peas
- 100 g Jeera
- 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the foxtail millet thoroughly under running water and soak it in water for 20 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- 2. Heat ghee on a flat tawa or pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle, followed by cumin seeds, green chili, and curry leaves. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- 3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, then stir in the chopped tomato and cook until soft and mushy.
- 4. Add the chopped green beans, carrots, and green peas. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
- 5. Stir in turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to coat the vegetables evenly with the spices.
- 6. Add the drained millet to the pan and mix thoroughly with the vegetables and spices.
- 7. Pour in 2 cups of hot water and stir. Cover the pan and let it cook on low heat for 12-15 minutes until the millet is cooked and fluffy.
- 8. Turn off the heat, sprinkle lemon juice and chopped coriander leaves over the upma, and gently mix.
- 9. Serve hot and enjoy your Tangy Tawa Millet Upma with a side of yogurt or pickle for added flavor.
