- 500 g Onion
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 250 g Carrot
- 250 g Spinach
- 200 g Dahi
- - Besan
- - Chaat Masala
- 50G Green Chilies
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 1 liter Sunflower Oil
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, chaat masala, cumin seeds, and salt.
- 2. Add the yogurt and slowly mix in enough water to form a smooth batter with a pouring consistency.
- 3. Fold in the chopped onions, tomatoes, grated carrots, spinach, and green chilies to evenly distribute the vegetables.
- 4. Heat a non-stick tawa or flat pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with a small amount of oil.
- 5. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the pan and spread it evenly into a thin circle using the back of the ladle.
- 6. Cook the cheela on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until bubbles appear and the edges begin to lift off the pan.
- 7. Flip the cheela gently using a spatula and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- 8. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the pan as necessary.
- 9. Serve the cheelas hot with mint chutney or yogurt on the side for a refreshing complement.
