Ingredients
- 1 Kg Idly/Dosa Batter
- 100 g Tamarind Paste
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- - Grated Coconut
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Prepare the idlis by pouring the idli batter into greased idli molds and steaming them for 10-12 minutes until cooked. Remove and let them cool slightly.
- 2. Heat a pan on medium heat and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- 3. Add asafoetida, chopped green chilies, curry leaves, and turmeric powder to the pan. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until aromatic.
- 4. Stir in the tamarind pulp and salt, cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
- 5. Gently toss the steamed idlis in the prepared tamarind and curry leaf mixture, ensuring they are evenly coated.
- 6. Optional: Garnish with grated coconut for added flavor and texture. Serve warm.
