- 250 G Masur Dal
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 500 g Onion
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 200G Adrak Lasun Paste (200g)
- 100G Oleo
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- - Vegetable Stock Cubes
- - Coriander Powder
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 100 g Jeera
- 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the red lentils thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear, then soak them for 20 minutes.
- 2. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for 30 seconds.
- 3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Then add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute until aromatic.
- 4. Stir in the chopped tomatoes and green chilies. Cook until the tomatoes soften and the oil starts to separate, about 7-8 minutes.
- 5. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder. Mix well and cook for 1 minute to bloom the spices.
- 6. Drain the soaked lentils and add them to the pan. Pour in the vegetable stock and bring the mixture to a boil.
- 7. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let the lentils simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are soft and fully cooked.
- 8. Stir in garam masala and adjust salt to taste. Let it cook for another 2 minutes to meld the flavors.
- 9. Turn off the heat, garnish with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve hot.
