Ingredients

  • 500 Grms Bajra Atta Millets Atta 500 Grms
  • 500 g Onion
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 250 g French Beans
  • 250 g Carrot
  • 200 g Dahi
  • 200 ml Ghee
  • - Tandoori Seasoning 50g
  • 100 g Lemon
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • - Green Peas
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the millet thoroughly under running water and soak it in water for 15 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, allowing them to splutter.
  3. 3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent. Then, add the tomato and cook until soft and mushy.
  4. 4. Stir in the tandoori masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  5. 5. Add the chopped vegetables (carrot, green beans, and green peas) and sauté for 3-4 minutes until they are slightly tender.
  6. 6. Mix in the soaked millet and cook for another 2 minutes, ensuring the millet is well coated with the spices.
  7. 7. Add 2 cups of hot water and curd to the pan. Stir well, cover, and cook on low heat for 15-20 minutes until the millet is cooked and fluffy.
  8. 8. Once cooked, add the remaining ghee, lemon juice, and fresh coriander leaves. Gently fluff the upma with a fork.
  9. 9. Serve hot with a side of fresh yogurt or coconut chutney for a complete breakfast.
