Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • 500 g Onion
  • - Tandoori Seasoning 50g
  • 200 g Dahi
  • 200 ml Mustard Oil
  • medium Chilli Green Long
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the yellow moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 4-6 hours or overnight.
  2. 2. Drain the soaked dal and blend it into a smooth paste using a blender. Add a little water if required to achieve a thick, pancake-like batter consistency.
  3. 3. Transfer the batter to a mixing bowl and add finely chopped onion, tomato, green chili, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, tandoori masala, cumin seeds, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to combine.
  4. 4. Heat a non-stick pan or skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil.
  5. 5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin pancake. Cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat until the bottom is golden brown.
  6. 6. Flip the chilla carefully and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes, adding a few drops of oil around the edges if needed.
  7. 7. Repeat the process with the remaining batter to make more chillas.
