Ingredients
- 1 kg Sweet Potato
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- - Besan
- 500 g Onion
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Drain the soaked yellow lentils and blend them into a smooth batter using minimal water. Transfer the batter to a mixing bowl.
- 2. Add the grated sweet potato, chickpea flour, chopped onion, green chilies, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, red chili powder, coriander leaves, and salt to the bowl. Mix well to form a thick batter.
- 3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with a teaspoon of oil.
- 4. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the skillet and spread it into a thin circle, like a pancake. Cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown.
- 5. Flip the chilla and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until evenly cooked and slightly crisp.
- 6. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, adding more oil to the skillet as needed.
- 7. Serve the sweet potato and lentil protein chilla hot, accompanied by yogurt or mint chutney.
