Ingredients
- 250 g Carrot
- 250 g Cucumber
- 1 kg Beetroot
- 110 g Sushi Ginger Pickle
- 1 Kg Tanifuji Sticky Short Grain Sushi Rice
- Pack of 10 Yaki Sushi Nori Seaweed Sheet
- - Rice Vinegar
- 200 gm Salmon
- 1pc Avocado
- 90 g Dark Soy Sauce
- 200 g Table Salt
- 500 g Sugar
Instructions
- 1. Rinse 1 cup of sushi rice thoroughly until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for 30 minutes, then drain.
- 2. Cook the rice in 1 1/4 cups of water in a pot or rice cooker until tender. Let it cool slightly.
- 3. In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp rice vinegar, 1 tbsp sugar, and 1/2 tsp salt. Heat gently until dissolved. Fold this mixture into the cooked rice and let it cool completely.
- 4. Prepare the filling: Julienne 1 cucumber (peeled and deseeded), 1 carrot (peeled), and 1 small beetroot (peeled).
- 5. Place a sheet of nori (seaweed) on a bamboo sushi mat. Spread a thin, even layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top.
- 6. Arrange the julienned vegetables in a line across the center of the rice.
- 7. Roll the sushi tightly using the bamboo mat, pressing gently to seal the edge.
- 8. Slice the sushi roll into 6-8 pieces using a sharp knife dipped in water to prevent sticking.
- 9. Serve with a bit of soy sauce, pickled ginger, and wasabi (optional).
