Ingredients

  • - Bell Peppers
  • 500 g Onion
  • - Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 kg Basmati Rice
  • 100 g Feta Cheese
  • 100 g Garlic
  • 10 g Oregano Seasoning

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2. Prepare the bell peppers by cutting off the tops, removing the seeds, and rinsing them. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, then carefully drop the peppers into the boiling water. Boil for 5 minutes to soften them slightly, then remove and drain. Set the peppers aside to cool.
  3. 3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, 2/3 cup of chopped bell pepper (from the tops), and cooked rice. Mix well to combine.
  4. 4. Add crumbled Brown Bread Ladi Pav and 1/2 cup of tomato juice to the mixture. Mix thoroughly to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.
  5. 5. Once the peppers are cool enough to handle, stuff each pepper with the ground beef mixture, packing it in firmly but not overfilling.
  6. 6. Arrange the stuffed peppers upright in a large oven-safe pot or baking dish with a lid. Pour tomato ketchup evenly over the tops of the stuffed peppers.
  7. 7. Add an additional 1/2 cup of tomato juice to the bottom of the pot or baking dish to create a flavorful cooking liquid.
  8. 8. Cover the pot or baking dish with the lid (or foil if using a baking dish without a lid) and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours.
  9. 9. After 2 hours, uncover the pot or baking dish and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes to allow the tops of the peppers to brown slightly and the flavors to meld.
  10. 10. Remove the stuffed peppers from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with additional bread on the side.
