Ingredients
- - Bell Peppers
- 500 g Onion
- - Tomato Ketchup
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 100 g Feta Cheese
- 100 g Garlic
- 10 g Oregano Seasoning
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2. Prepare the bell peppers by cutting off the tops, removing the seeds, and rinsing them. Bring a large pot of water to a boil, then carefully drop the peppers into the boiling water. Boil for 5 minutes to soften them slightly, then remove and drain. Set the peppers aside to cool.
- 3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, 2/3 cup of chopped bell pepper (from the tops), and cooked rice. Mix well to combine.
- 4. Add crumbled Brown Bread Ladi Pav and 1/2 cup of tomato juice to the mixture. Mix thoroughly to ensure the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- 5. Once the peppers are cool enough to handle, stuff each pepper with the ground beef mixture, packing it in firmly but not overfilling.
- 6. Arrange the stuffed peppers upright in a large oven-safe pot or baking dish with a lid. Pour tomato ketchup evenly over the tops of the stuffed peppers.
- 7. Add an additional 1/2 cup of tomato juice to the bottom of the pot or baking dish to create a flavorful cooking liquid.
- 8. Cover the pot or baking dish with the lid (or foil if using a baking dish without a lid) and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours.
- 9. After 2 hours, uncover the pot or baking dish and continue baking for an additional 30 minutes to allow the tops of the peppers to brown slightly and the flavors to meld.
- 10. Remove the stuffed peppers from the oven and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. Serve warm, optionally with additional bread on the side.
