Ingredients

  • 500 Grms Ragi / Nachni Atta Millets Atta 500 Grms
  • 500 g Onion
  • 250 g Carrot
  • 100 g Curry Leaves
  • 100G Oleo
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 100 g Lemon
  • 500 g Capsicum Green
  • medium Chilli Green Long
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds

Instructions

  1. 1. Dry roast the ragi flour on medium heat in a tawa for 5-7 minutes until aromatic, then set aside to cool.
  2. 2. Heat vegetable oil on the same tawa and add mustard seeds; let them splutter, then add cumin seeds, curry leaves, and slit green chilies. Sauté for 1 minute.
  3. 3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, then stir in the tomatoes, bell pepper, and carrot. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables soften slightly.
  4. 4. Mix in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt, and cook for another minute to combine the flavors.
  5. 5. Gradually add the roasted ragi flour to the tawa while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  6. 6. Add water in small increments, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches a soft, porridge-like consistency. Cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally.
  7. 7. Turn off the heat and garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves and a squeeze of lemon juice before serving.
