Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • - Besan
  • 500 g Onion
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 200 g Dahi
  • 1 liter Sunflower Oil
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • 50G Green Chilies
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse and soak the moong dal in water for 4 hours, then drain and blend into a coarse paste using minimal water.
  2. 2. In a mixing bowl, combine the moong dal paste with gram flour, onion, tomato, green chilies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, turmeric, coriander powder, garam masala, red chili powder, lemon juice, yogurt, and salt. Mix well to form a thick batter.
  3. 3. Heat a non-stick pan with 1 tsp vegetable oil over medium heat. Scoop portions of the batter and shape them into small patties directly onto the pan. Flatten slightly with a spatula.
  4. 4. Cook the patties on medium heat for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Repeat with remaining batter, adding more oil if necessary.
  5. 5. Serve the hot moong dal tikka patties with a side of mint-yogurt chutney or fresh salad for a wholesome breakfast.
