- 500 Grms Bajra Atta Millets Atta 500 Grms
- 200 ml Ghee
- 250 g Carrot
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- - Coriander Powder
- 250 g French Beans
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the foxtail millet and yellow moong dal thoroughly under running water and soak them for 20 minutes.
- 2. Heat ghee in a pressure cooker on medium heat. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida, letting them sizzle for 30 seconds.
- 3. Add chopped carrots, green beans, and slit green chili to the cooker. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened.
- 4. Stir in turmeric powder, coriander powder, and red chili powder, mixing well with the vegetables.
- 5. Drain the soaked millet and dal, and add them to the cooker along with salt. Mix everything together for 1-2 minutes.
- 6. Add enough water to cover the ingredients (approximately 2 cups) and close the lid of the pressure cooker.
- 7. Cook on medium heat for 3 whistles or until the millet and dal are soft and well-cooked.
- 8. Allow the pressure to release naturally, then open the lid and stir the khichdi gently to achieve a creamy texture.
- 9. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and serve hot.
