Ingredients
- 200 ml Sesame Oil
- 500 g Onion
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- - Red Chilli Powder
- - Coriander Powder
- 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 500 g Capsicum Green
- - Tomato Ketchup
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Cut the idlis into bite-sized cubes and set them aside for frying.
- 2. Heat oil in a large tawa or pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter, then add curry leaves and sauté for a few seconds until aromatic.
- 3. Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Stir in the chopped tomato and cook until it softens and forms a thick base.
- 4. Add capsicum, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, sambar powder, and salt. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes until the spices are fragrant and the vegetables are well-coated.
- 5. Mix in tomato ketchup and cook for another minute to add a slight tanginess to the masala.
- 6. Add the idli cubes to the masala, gently tossing to coat them evenly. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the idlis to absorb the flavors and develop a slight crust.
- 7. Finish by squeezing lemon juice over the idlis and garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve hot with coconut chutney or enjoy as is.
