Ingredients
- 100 g Sambar Onion Peeled
- 100 g Garlic - Single Clove
- 51 g Knorr Thick Tomato Soup
- 200 g Cremeitalia Sour Cream
- 250 g Organically Grown Green Capsicum
- 1 kg Rice
- 70 g Namakwali Authentic Mix Seasoning Flavoured Salt
- 1 pack (100 g) Popular Essentials Black Pepper
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2. Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully place the whole cabbage into the pot and cook until the outer leaves soften. Remove the softened leaves one by one and set them aside. Repeat until you have enough leaves for rolling.
- 3. Trim the thick central vein from each cabbage leaf to make them easier to roll.
- 4. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup cooked rice, 1 finely chopped onion, 2 minced garlic cloves, a pinch of salt and pepper, and finely chopped green capsicum. Mix until well combined.
- 5. Take one cabbage leaf and place a generous spoonful of the vegetable mixture in the center. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling, then roll it up tightly to form a neat roll. Repeat with the remaining leaves and filling.
- 6. Line the bottom of a large, heavy oven-safe pot or baking dish with a few cabbage leaves to prevent sticking. Arrange the cabbage rolls seam-side down in a single layer.
- 7. Pour 1 can of tomato soup evenly over the cabbage rolls. Add enough water to the pot to come halfway up the sides of the rolls.
- 8. Cover the pot with a lid or aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, until the rolls are tender and the flavors are well combined.
- 9. Remove the pot from the oven and let the rolls rest for a few minutes. Serve hot, optionally topped with a dollop of sour cream.
