Sabudana Kheer Recipe Kit recipe

About this recipe

Sabudana Kheer is a creamy and comforting Indian dessert made with sago pearls, milk, and sugar, perfect for festive occasions or as a sweet treat on any day. The kheer is gently infused with the warm flavors of cardamom and saffron, which enhance its aroma and richness. Crunchy almonds, cashews, and plump raisins add a delightful texture, making each bite indulgent and satisfying. This traditional recipe is simple to prepare, starting with soaking the sabudana to achieve its soft, chewy consistency, followed by slow cooking in milk until it thickens to a luscious, velvety texture. Ingredients

  • 1 l Homogenised Toned Milk
  • 100 g Almonds
  • - Tata Sampann 100% Pure Premium Cashews Whole Premium Quality Kaju Rich In Protein, Magnesium, And Phosphorus
  • 500 g Sugar
  • 100 g Raisins
  • Pcs Saffron
  • Loose Cardamom

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash 1/2 cup of sabudana (sago pearls) thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear. Soak it in 1 cup of water for 2 hours.
  2. 2. In a heavy-bottomed pot, bring 3 cups of full-fat milk to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
  3. 3. Once the milk starts boiling, lower the heat and add the soaked sabudana (along with any excess water). Stir well to combine.
  4. 4. Cook the sabudana in the milk on low heat for 12-15 minutes, stirring frequently, until the pearls turn translucent and the milk thickens slightly.
  5. 5. Add 4-5 tbsp of sugar (adjust to taste) and 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder. Stir well to dissolve the sugar completely.
  6. 6. Add 2 tbsp of chopped cashews, 2 tbsp of chopped almonds, and 1 tbsp of raisins. Mix well and let the kheer simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  7. 7. Turn off the heat and let the kheer cool slightly. Serve warm or chilled, garnished with a few strands of saffron and additional chopped nuts.
