Ingredients

  • 500 g Onion
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 200 g Dahi
  • 1 box Baking Soda
  • - Besan
  • 50 Grms Garam Masala Handmade Spices 50 Grms
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 50G Green Chilies
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 1 liter Sunflower Oil
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, yogurt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin seeds, and salt. Gradually add water to form a smooth, lump-free batter with a consistency similar to pancake batter.
  2. 2. Add the chopped onion, tomato, green chilies, and coriander leaves to the batter. Mix well to evenly distribute the vegetables.
  3. 3. Stir in the baking soda just before cooking to make the chillas light and fluffy.
  4. 4. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with a few drops of oil.
  5. 5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it into a thin, even circle using the back of the ladle. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the edges start lifting and the bottom is golden brown.
  6. 6. Flip the chilla carefully and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until fully cooked and golden.
  7. 7. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the pan lightly before making each chilla.
