Pide is a Turkish-inspired flatbread, reimagined with Indian flavors to suit family snacking moments. This fusion delight combines soft, fluffy bread with a flavorful spiced filling, making it a perfect addition to tea-time or gatherings.
Ingredients
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- - Dairy Milk
- - Dry Yeast
- 500Ml Gaia Extra Virgin Olive Oil (500ml)
- 200 g Paneer
- 500 g Onion
- 100 g Garlic
- 1 kg Bell Peppers
- 250 g Spinach
- 6 pcs White Eggs
- 500 g Refined Flour
- 500 g Sugar
- 100 g Salt
- - Red Chilli Powder
- 50 Grms Garam Masala Handmade Spices 50 Grms
Instructions
- 1. In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, salt, and olive oil. Gradually pour in the yeast mixture and knead into a soft dough. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for 1 hour.
- 3. Prepare the filling by heating oil in a pan. Sauté onions and garlic until golden, then add bell peppers, grated paneer, chopped spinach, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes and let it cool.
- 4. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each into an oval shape. Place the filling in the center, leaving edges clear. Fold and pinch the sides to form a boat shape.
- 5. Brush the edges with egg wash or milk for a golden crust. Place the Pides on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and bake for 15 minutes until the crust is golden and crisp.
- 6. Remove from the oven, garnish with chopped coriander and a drizzle of lemon juice if desired. Serve warm with mint chutney or yogurt dip.
