  • medium Chilli Green Long
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • 250 g Spinach
  • 200 ml Ghee
  • 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
  • 500 g Chana Dal
  • 100 g Salt
  • 50 g Asafoetida Powder
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • - Coriander Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the chana dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. Heat ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida (hing), allowing them to sizzle for 30 seconds.
  3. 3. Add the chopped green chili and tomato, and sauté for 3-4 minutes until the tomato softens and breaks down.
  4. 4. Stir in turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder, and mix well. Add the soaked chana dal and sauté for 2 minutes to coat the dal with spices.
  5. 5. Add enough water to the pan to cover the dal, bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the dal is tender but not mushy.
  6. 6. Once the dal is cooked, add the chopped spinach to the pan, and stir well. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the spinach is wilted and fully incorporated.
  7. 7. Sprinkle garam masala and salt into the curry, mix well, and let it simmer for 2 minutes to blend the flavors.
  8. 8. Turn off the heat, and stir in lemon juice for a tangy touch. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
