Ingredients

  • 200 ml Cow Ghee
  • - Besan
  • 1 l Milk
  • 500 g Sugar

Instructions

  1. 1. In a bowl, mix 2 cups of besan flour with about 5-6 tablespoons of ghee until it resembles a crumbly texture.
  2. 2. Heat a pan and add the remaining ghee. Once melted, add the besan mixture and roast on medium heat until you get a nutty aroma and the mixture turns golden brown. Stir continuously to prevent burning.
  3. 3. Meanwhile, in another saucepan, add 1 cup of sugar and just enough milk to cover the sugar. Heat the mixture until the sugar dissolves completely and it becomes slightly syrupy.
  4. 4. Pour the sugar syrup into the roasted besan mixture. Mix well to ensure the syrup is evenly incorporated.
  5. 5. Grease a tray with ghee and pour the mixture into it. Smooth the top and sprinkle chopped almonds and pistachios over the mixture.
  6. 6. Let it cool at room temperature. Once set, cut into square or diamond shapes. Serve and enjoy your delicious homemade Mohan Thal!
