Ingredients
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- 200 g Paneer
- 500 g Onion
- 300 g Ginger Paste
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 50G Green Chilies
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 4-6 hours or overnight.
- 2. Drain the soaked dal and blend it into a smooth batter, adding minimal water as needed. Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and salt to the batter.
- 3. In a separate bowl, prepare the paneer filling by combining grated paneer, onion, tomato, green chilies, ginger paste, garam masala, and fresh coriander.
- 4. Heat a non-stick pan or tawa and grease it lightly with ghee or oil. Pour a ladleful of the moong dal batter and spread it into a thin, circular pancake.
- 5. Cook the chilla on medium heat until the edges start to lift and the surface looks cooked. Flip it and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes.
- 6. Spread a portion of the paneer filling on one half of the cooked chilla and fold it over to seal. Cook for another minute to heat the filling.
- 7. Remove the chilla and repeat the process with the remaining batter and filling. Serve hot with mint chutney or yogurt.
