Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • 200 g Paneer
  • 500 g Onion
  • 300 g Ginger Paste
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • 50G Green Chilies
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the moong dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 4-6 hours or overnight.
  2. 2. Drain the soaked dal and blend it into a smooth batter, adding minimal water as needed. Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, and salt to the batter.
  3. 3. In a separate bowl, prepare the paneer filling by combining grated paneer, onion, tomato, green chilies, ginger paste, garam masala, and fresh coriander.
  4. 4. Heat a non-stick pan or tawa and grease it lightly with ghee or oil. Pour a ladleful of the moong dal batter and spread it into a thin, circular pancake.
  5. 5. Cook the chilla on medium heat until the edges start to lift and the surface looks cooked. Flip it and cook the other side for 1-2 minutes.
  6. 6. Spread a portion of the paneer filling on one half of the cooked chilla and fold it over to seal. Cook for another minute to heat the filling.
  7. 7. Remove the chilla and repeat the process with the remaining batter and filling. Serve hot with mint chutney or yogurt.
