- 500 Grms Bajra Atta Millets Atta 500 Grms
- 100G Oleo
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- - Green Peas
- 100 g Lemon
- 250 g French Beans
- 500 g Capsicum Green
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 50G Green Chilies
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the foxtail millet thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes, then drain and set aside.
- 2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds, hing, curry leaves, and chopped green chilies, letting them splutter for 30 seconds to release their aroma.
- 3. Add green beans, capsicum, and green peas to the pan. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables soften slightly.
- 4. Mix in the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, and salt, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until the tomatoes break down and blend with the spices.
- 5. Add the drained millet to the pan and stir well to coat it with the spices and vegetables.
- 6. Pour enough water to cover the millet and vegetables, then bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes until the millet is tender and the water is absorbed.
- 7. Turn off the heat, garnish with fresh coriander leaves, and squeeze lemon juice over the upma for added freshness.
- 8. Serve hot as a wholesome breakfast for the family, accompanied by chutney or yogurt if desired.
