- 500 Grms Bajra Atta Millets Atta 500 Grms
- 500 g Onion
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 250 g Carrot
- 200 ml Ghee
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 100 g Salt
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- - Green Peas
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the foxtail millet thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- 2. Heat ghee or oil in a pan on medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter, followed by cumin seeds and curry leaves.
- 3. Add the chopped onion and green chili to the pan. Sauté until the onion turns translucent.
- 4. Stir in the diced carrots, green peas, and mixed sprouts. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing the vegetables to soften slightly.
- 5. Add the chopped tomato, turmeric powder, garam masala, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook until the tomatoes soften and the spices are fragrant.
- 6. Add the soaked millet to the pan, mix well, and pour in enough water to cover the millet (approximately 1.5 cups). Cover and cook on low heat for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the millet is cooked and fluffy.
- 7. Once the millet is cooked, garnish the upma with freshly chopped coriander leaves. Mix gently to combine.
- 8. Serve the Masala Sprout Millet Upma warm as a wholesome breakfast or brunch dish, accompanied by a side of yogurt or chutney if desired.
