Ingredients
- 100 g Oats Jumbo
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- 500 g Onion
- 250 g Carrot
- - Green Peas
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 200 ml Ghee
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Dry roast the oats in a pan for 3-4 minutes on medium heat until slightly golden, then set aside.
- 2. In a pot, cook the soaked moong dal with a pinch of turmeric until soft but not mushy, then drain and set aside.
- 3. Heat ghee in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Allow them to crackle.
- 4. Add the chopped onion and green chili to the pan. Sauté until the onion turns translucent.
- 5. Stir in the chopped tomato and cook until it softens. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and garam masala, mixing well.
- 6. Add the carrots and green peas, cooking for 2-3 minutes until they are tender.
- 7. Mix in the cooked moong dal and roasted oats. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- 8. Add salt to taste and enough water to achieve a porridge-like consistency. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 9. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot.
