Ingredients
- 100 g Oats Jumbo
- 500 g Suji
- 200 g Dahi
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 500 g Onion
- 100G Oleo
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Grind the rolled oats into a fine powder using a blender or food processor, then mix with semolina in a large bowl.
- 2. Add yogurt and enough water to the oats and semolina mixture to create a thick batter. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 3. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Allow them to sizzle for 30 seconds.
- 4. Stir in the chopped onion, tomato, and green chili, and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt, mixing well.
- 5. Fold the sautéed vegetable mixture into the batter, along with fresh coriander leaves. Adjust consistency if needed with water.
- 6. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil. Pour a ladle of batter onto the pan and spread it into a small circular shape.
- 7. Cook the uttapam for 2-3 minutes on one side until the edges turn crispy and golden, then flip and cook the other side for 2 minutes.
- 8. Repeat the process with the remaining batter. Serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar for a complete meal.
