Ingredients
- 1 piece Mango
- 250 ml Coconut Milk
- 2 Kg Mbk Glutinous Sticky Rice
- 200 g Table Salt
- 500G Madhur Sugar
- 500 ml Water
Instructions
- 1. Rinse 1 cup of glutinous rice (sticky rice) thoroughly and soak in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- 2. Drain the soaked rice and steam it in a bamboo steamer or a regular steamer for 20-25 minutes until fully cooked and sticky.
- 3. In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of coconut milk, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1/4 tsp of salt. Heat on medium flame, stirring until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat.
- 4. Transfer the cooked sticky rice to a bowl and pour half of the warm coconut milk mixture over it. Gently mix to coat the rice evenly. Let it sit for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- 5. Peel and slice 2 ripe mangoes into thin, even slices.
- 6. For the coconut sauce, heat the remaining coconut milk mixture in the saucepan and add 1 tsp of cornstarch dissolved in 1 tbsp of water. Stir continuously until the sauce thickens slightly.
- 7. To serve, place a portion of the sticky rice on a plate, arrange mango slices alongside, and drizzle the coconut sauce over the rice. Optionally, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds or mung beans for garnish.
- 8. Serve warm or at room temperature as a dessert.
