  • 400 g Pastazara Finely Chopped Tomatoes
  • 5Ltr Vittorio Pomace Olive Oil
  • 1 kg Tata Salt (Vacuum Evaporated Iodised)
  • 1 pack (100 g) Tata Sampann Pure Black Pepper Powder
  • 40 g Orika True Cinnamon Stick
  • 525 g Veeba Herby Tomato Pizza & Pasta Sauce
  • 750 ml Catch Clear Lemon N Lime Flavoured Water

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat 1/2 cup olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add 1 tsp salt and 1/2 tsp pepper to the oil and stir to combine.
  2. 2. Add 1 diced onion, 4 minced garlic cloves, and 1/2 cup chopped parsley to the pot. Sauté until the onions turn translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Stir in 2 chopped tomatoes and cook for 2 minutes until they release their juices.
  4. 4. Add 3 cinnamon sticks and stir to combine with the vegetables.
  5. 5. Pour in 2 cups of tomato sauce and mix well. Then, fill one of the empty tomato sauce cans with water and add two can-fulls of water to the pot.
  6. 6. Taste the mixture and adjust seasoning with additional salt and pepper if needed.
  7. 7. Bring the stew to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pot and let it simmer for 2 1/2 hours, stirring occasionally, until the sauce has thickened.
  8. 8. Serve the stew hot over thin spaghetti or egg noodles, and optionally top with grated kosher cheese.
