Ingredients

  • - Chilli Green 100 G
  • 1Kg Potato
  • 250 Grms Chana Dal – Besan Wheat Atta 250 Grms
  • 1 l Refined Soyabean Oil
  • 100 g Coriander Powder
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • 200 g Table Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Red Chilli Powder
  • 50 g Asafoetida Powder
  • 500G Maida (Refined Flour)

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and pat dry 4 large green chilies (preferably Bhavnagari chilies). Slit them lengthwise and remove the seeds carefully.
  2. 2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of boiled and mashed potatoes, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, 1/2 tsp coriander powder, 1/4 tsp garam masala, and salt to taste. Mix well to prepare the stuffing.
  3. 3. Fill each chili with the prepared potato stuffing, ensuring it is packed tightly.
  4. 4. In another bowl, prepare the batter by mixing 1 cup of gram flour (besan), 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, a pinch of asafoetida (hing), and salt to taste. Gradually add water to form a thick, lump-free batter.
  5. 5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Dip the stuffed chilies into the gram flour batter, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  6. 6. Carefully lower the coated chilies into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crisp. Remove and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. 7. Serve the mirchi vadas hot with tamarind chutney or green chutney.
