  • 100 Ml Gowardhan Ghee
  • 200 g Table Salt
  • 500 g Wheat Flour / Maida
  • 500G Madhur Sugar

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. 2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup of powdered sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  3. 3. Add 1/2 cup of softened ghee (clarified butter) to the dry ingredients and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. 4. Gradually add 1-2 tablespoons of cold water, mixing until the dough comes together. Avoid overmixing.
  5. 5. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll each portion into a smooth ball.
  6. 6. Place the dough balls on the prepared baking tray, leaving space between each.
  7. 7. Use your thumb or the back of a teaspoon to gently press a small indentation into the center of each dough ball.
  8. 8. Fill each indentation with 1/2 teaspoon of Jain-approved fruit jelly (avoid root-based ingredients like carrots or potatoes).
  9. 9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  10. 10. Remove the tray from the oven and let the cookies cool completely on a wire rack.
