Indian Spiced Cranberry-Cherry Relish recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pack (100 g) Town Grocer Black Raisins
  • 2 pcs Orange Imported
  • 220 g Organically Grown Lemon
  • 500 g Uttam Sugar Brown Sugar Cubes
  • 2 x 170 ml Masterchow White Vinegar - Pack Of 2
  • 45 g On1Y Cinnamon Powder
  • 1 pack (25 g) Snapin Nutmeg Powder
  • 50 g Minitz Garam Masala
  • 45 g Snapin Cinnamon Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Combine 2 cups Uttam Sugar Brown Sugar Cubes, 1 1/2 cups Town Grocer Black Raisins, 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1 teaspoon garam masala, the zest and juice of 1 orange, and the zest and juice of 1 lemon in a heavy large saucepan.
  2. 2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently to dissolve the sugar and combine the spices.
  3. 3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the mixture for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  4. 4. Add 2 cups Town Grocer Black Raisins to the saucepan. Continue to simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture thickens slightly.
  5. 5. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the relish cool to room temperature.
  6. 6. Transfer the relish to an airtight container and refrigerate until cold. The flavors will deepen as it chills.
  7. 7. Serve the relish as a side dish or condiment with your dinner. It can be prepared up to 1 week in advance.
