A tangy and sweet Indian-inspired relish made with cranberries, cherries, and warm spices. Perfect as a dinner accompaniment to elevate your meal with bold flavors.
Ingredients
- 1 pack (100 g) Town Grocer Black Raisins
- 2 pcs Orange Imported
- 220 g Organically Grown Lemon
- 500 g Uttam Sugar Brown Sugar Cubes
- 2 x 170 ml Masterchow White Vinegar - Pack Of 2
- 45 g On1Y Cinnamon Powder
- 1 pack (25 g) Snapin Nutmeg Powder
- 50 g Minitz Garam Masala
- 45 g Snapin Cinnamon Powder
Instructions
- 1. Combine 2 cups Uttam Sugar Brown Sugar Cubes, 1 1/2 cups Town Grocer Black Raisins, 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1 teaspoon garam masala, the zest and juice of 1 orange, and the zest and juice of 1 lemon in a heavy large saucepan.
- 2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring frequently to dissolve the sugar and combine the spices.
- 3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the mixture for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- 4. Add 2 cups Town Grocer Black Raisins to the saucepan. Continue to simmer for about 5 minutes, or until the mixture thickens slightly.
- 5. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the relish cool to room temperature.
- 6. Transfer the relish to an airtight container and refrigerate until cold. The flavors will deepen as it chills.
- 7. Serve the relish as a side dish or condiment with your dinner. It can be prepared up to 1 week in advance.
