- 250 G Green Mug Dal
- medium Chilli Green Long
- loose Ginger
- - Rice Flour
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 500 g Onion
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- - Grated Coconut
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Drain the soaked green gram and blend it with green chili, ginger, cumin seeds, and a little water until smooth. Add rice flour, 1/2 tsp salt, and mix to form a thick batter.
- 2. Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and sauté the chopped onion until translucent. Add the chopped tomato and cook until soft.
- 3. Stir in turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and remaining salt into the onion-tomato mix. Cook for 2-3 minutes until the masala is fragrant, then add chopped coriander leaves. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 4. Heat a tawa or non-stick pan over medium heat and grease lightly with oil. Pour a ladleful of the moong dal batter and spread it into a thin circle to form a crepe.
- 5. Cook the pesarattu for 2-3 minutes until golden brown on one side, then flip and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes. Repeat until all the batter is used.
- 6. Serve the crispy pesarattu topped with the prepared tawa masala and an optional garnish of grated coconut. Pair with coconut chutney or tamarind sauce for a complete meal.
