Ingredients
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- - Green Peas
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 500 g Onion
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 200 ml Ghee
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- - Coriander Powder
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Wash the basmati rice and moong dal thoroughly and soak them together for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- 2. Heat ghee in a deep pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida, then sauté until aromatic.
- 3. Add the sliced onion and cook until golden brown. Stir in the green chili, chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, and coriander powder, cooking until the tomatoes are softened.
- 4. Add the soaked rice and moong dal to the pan. Mix well and pour enough water to cover the ingredients by 2 inches.
- 5. Add green peas and salt, then bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20-25 minutes until the rice and dal are fully cooked and creamy.
- 6. Stir in garam masala and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with fresh chopped coriander leaves before serving.
