Ingredients

  • 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
  • 500 g Onion
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 300 g Ginger Paste
  • 100G Oleo
  • 50 g Asafoetida Powder
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 50G Green Chilies
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Drain the soaked moong dal and grind it into a smooth paste using a blender. Add a few tablespoons of water if required to achieve a batter consistency similar to pancake batter.
  2. 2. Transfer the batter to a bowl and mix in the chopped onion, tomato, green chilies, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, ginger paste, asafoetida, and salt. Stir well to combine.
  3. 3. Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat and lightly grease it with a few drops of vegetable oil.
  4. 4. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it evenly in a circular motion to make a thin pancake.
  5. 5. Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom turns golden brown. Flip the chilla carefully and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
