- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- 500 g Onion
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 300 g Ginger Paste
- 100G Oleo
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 50G Green Chilies
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Drain the soaked moong dal and grind it into a smooth paste using a blender. Add a few tablespoons of water if required to achieve a batter consistency similar to pancake batter.
- 2. Transfer the batter to a bowl and mix in the chopped onion, tomato, green chilies, coriander leaves, turmeric powder, red chili powder, cumin seeds, ginger paste, asafoetida, and salt. Stir well to combine.
- 3. Heat a non-stick pan on medium heat and lightly grease it with a few drops of vegetable oil.
- 4. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the pan and spread it evenly in a circular motion to make a thin pancake.
- 5. Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottom turns golden brown. Flip the chilla carefully and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes.
- 6. Remove the chilla from the pan and repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the pan as needed.
