Ingredients
- 400 g Curd
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 500 g Capsicum Green
- 500 g Onion
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 1 box Baking Soda
- 200 ml Mustard Oil
- 100 g Jeera
- 500 g Rava
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. In a mixing bowl, combine semolina, curd, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well to form a thick batter and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 2. After resting, check the consistency of the batter. If it is too thick, adjust by adding a small amount of water to achieve a pouring consistency.
- 3. Fold in the chopped tomatoes, capsicum, onions, and coriander leaves into the batter. Mix gently to ensure even distribution of the vegetables.
- 4. Just before cooking, add the baking soda to the batter and mix lightly to activate it.
- 5. Heat an appe pan on medium heat and lightly grease each cavity with a few drops of oil.
- 6. Spoon the batter into the cavities of the appe pan, filling them to about three-fourths full.
- 7. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
- 8. Flip each appe using a skewer or spoon, cover, and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until evenly cooked.
- 9. Remove the cooked appe uttapams from the pan and repeat the process with the remaining batter.
- 10. Serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato chutney for a delicious and healthy breakfast.
