About this recipe
Ganne Ka Juice, or fresh sugarcane juice, is a beloved Indian beverage known for its refreshing and naturally sweet flavor. Packed with nutrients, it is a perfect thirst-quencher on hot days and a staple at roadside stalls across India.
Ingredients
- loose Ginger
- 100 g Lemon
- 200 g Black Salt
- 1 Kg Sugarcane (1 Kg)
Instructions
- 1. Start by thoroughly washing the sugarcane sticks under running water to remove dirt and impurities. Use a scrubber if necessary.
- 2. Peel the tough outer skin of the sugarcane using a sharp knife or sugarcane peeler. Cut the sugarcane into small pieces, approximately 3-4 inches in length, to fit into the juicer.
- 3. Set up a sugarcane juicer (manual or electric). Feed the sugarcane pieces through the juicer one by one, collecting the juice in a clean container. Repeat this process to extract maximum juice.
- 4. Strain the extracted juice through a fine mesh sieve or muslin cloth to remove any pulp or debris for a smoother consistency.
- 5. Add lemon juice and a pinch of black salt to the strained juice. Stir gently to combine and enhance the flavor.
- 6. Transfer the prepared sugarcane juice into serving glasses. Add ice cubes if desired for a chilled experience. Serve immediately for maximum freshness.
