Ingredients

  • - Rice Flour
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 500 g Onion
  • 200 g Dahi
  • 250 ml Olive Oil
  • - Besan
  • 50 g Asafoetida Powder
  • medium Chilli Green Long
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, asafoetida, cumin seeds, and salt.
  2. 2. Add yogurt to the dry ingredients and mix well. Gradually add water to form a smooth, lump-free batter with a pourable consistency.
  3. 3. Fold in the chopped tomato, onion, green chili, and coriander leaves into the batter. Mix until evenly combined.
  4. 4. Heat a flat tawa or non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with a few drops of cooking oil.
  5. 5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it gently into a thin, round pancake. Drizzle a few drops of oil around the edges.
  6. 6. Cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat until the edges turn golden and the bottom is fully cooked. Flip and cook the other side for another 2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. 7. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the tawa as needed.
  8. 8. Serve the cheelas hot with mint chutney or yogurt on the side for a complete breakfast.
