Ingredients
- - Rice Flour
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 500 g Onion
- 200 g Dahi
- 250 ml Olive Oil
- - Besan
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine gram flour, rice flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, asafoetida, cumin seeds, and salt.
- 2. Add yogurt to the dry ingredients and mix well. Gradually add water to form a smooth, lump-free batter with a pourable consistency.
- 3. Fold in the chopped tomato, onion, green chili, and coriander leaves into the batter. Mix until evenly combined.
- 4. Heat a flat tawa or non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with a few drops of cooking oil.
- 5. Pour a ladleful of batter onto the tawa and spread it gently into a thin, round pancake. Drizzle a few drops of oil around the edges.
- 6. Cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat until the edges turn golden and the bottom is fully cooked. Flip and cook the other side for another 2 minutes until golden brown.
- 7. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the tawa as needed.
- 8. Serve the cheelas hot with mint chutney or yogurt on the side for a complete breakfast.
