Ingredients
- - Powder Oats
- 500 g Suji
- 200 g Dahi
- 250g Green Chilli
- 1 box Baking Soda
- 100G Oleo
- 250 g Carrot
- 50 g Asafoetida Powder
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Dry roast the oats in a pan for 2-3 minutes until fragrant, then grind them into a fine powder using a blender.
- 2. Mix the oats powder, semolina, yogurt, and salt in a bowl to form a smooth batter. Add a little yogurt if the batter feels too thick and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 3. Heat oil in a small pan, add mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves, and green chili. Sauté for a minute, then pour this tempering into the batter.
- 4. Stir in turmeric powder, grated carrots, and chopped coriander leaves into the batter. Mix well to evenly distribute the ingredients.
- 5. Just before steaming, add baking soda to the batter and mix gently. Grease idli molds with a little oil and pour the batter into each mold, filling them halfway.
- 6. Steam the idlis in a steamer or pressure cooker (without the whistle) for 10-12 minutes on medium heat until they are cooked and fluffy.
- 7. Remove the idlis from the molds carefully and serve hot with coconut chutney or tomato chutney.
