Ingredients

  • 1 kg Basmati Rice
  • 200 ml Ghee
  • 500 g Onion
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 500 g Capsicum Green
  • 250 g Carrot
  • 300 g Ginger Paste
  • 25 g Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • - Green Peas
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 20 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. Heat ghee in a large tawa or skillet over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. 3. Add the sliced onion and sauté until golden brown. Stir in the ginger and garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute.
  4. 4. Mix in the chopped tomato and cook until they soften, then add the diced bell pepper, green peas, and julienned carrots. Stir well and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. 5. Add the red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Stir to coat the vegetables in the spices evenly.
  6. 6. Add the soaked rice and mix gently with the vegetables and spices, ensuring the rice doesn’t break.
  7. 7. Pour enough water to cook the rice (around 1.5 cups). Add salt as needed. Cover and cook on low heat until the rice is fully cooked and fluffy.
  8. 8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
