Ingredients
- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 200 ml Ghee
- 500 g Onion
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 500 g Capsicum Green
- 250 g Carrot
- 300 g Ginger Paste
- 25 g Ginger Garlic Paste
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- - Coriander Powder
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- - Green Peas
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly and soak it in water for 20 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- 2. Heat ghee in a large tawa or skillet over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- 3. Add the sliced onion and sauté until golden brown. Stir in the ginger and garlic paste and sauté for 1 minute.
- 4. Mix in the chopped tomato and cook until they soften, then add the diced bell pepper, green peas, and julienned carrots. Stir well and cook for 5 minutes.
- 5. Add the red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and garam masala. Stir to coat the vegetables in the spices evenly.
- 6. Add the soaked rice and mix gently with the vegetables and spices, ensuring the rice doesn’t break.
- 7. Pour enough water to cook the rice (around 1.5 cups). Add salt as needed. Cover and cook on low heat until the rice is fully cooked and fluffy.
- 8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
