Ingredients
- 1 kg Yellow Moong Dal
- 500 g Onion
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 500g Swad Roasted Rice Powder 500g
- 50 g Black Pepper Powder
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 50g Everest Garam Masala
- 100 g Jeera
- 100 g Red Chili Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 1 liter Sunflower Oil
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse and soak the yellow moong dal in water for 4-5 hours or overnight, then drain the water.
- 2. Blend the soaked moong dal in a mixer to form a smooth batter, adding a few tablespoons of water if needed for consistency.
- 3. Transfer the batter to a bowl and mix in rice flour, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, black pepper powder, and salt.
- 4. Stir in the chopped onion, tomato, green chili, and coriander leaves until evenly combined.
- 5. Heat a tawa or non-stick skillet over medium heat and grease lightly with oil.
- 6. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the tawa and spread it evenly into a round pancake shape, about 1/4-inch thick.
- 7. Cook the chilla for 2-3 minutes on one side, then flip and cook the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- 8. Repeat the process with the remaining batter, greasing the tawa lightly between batches.
- 9. Serve the hot chillas with mint chutney or low-fat yogurt for a flavorful breakfast.
