Ingredients
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 1 kg Fish Fillets
- 200Ml Kara Coconut Milk Classic (200ml)
- - Dry Yeast
- - Coconut Oil
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- - Red Chilli Powder
- 100 g Salt
- 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
- 500 g Onion
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 200G Adrak Lasun Paste (200g)
- - Coriander Powder
- - Rice Flour
- 500 g Sugar
Instructions
- 1. Clean and wash the fish fillets thoroughly. Pat them dry with a paper towel and set aside.
- 2. Marinate the fish with turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and lemon juice. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- 3. Heat coconut oil in a pan on medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add curry leaves and sauté for a minute.
- 4. Add sliced onions, green chilies, and ginger-garlic paste. Sauté until the onions are soft and translucent, approximately 5 minutes.
- 5. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes.
- 6. Pour in the thin coconut milk and bring it to a gentle simmer. Let it cook for 5 minutes.
- 7. Gently place the marinated fish fillets into the curry. Cook the fish on low heat for 6-8 minutes, turning them once halfway through.
- 8. Add the thick coconut milk and simmer for 2 minutes. Adjust salt as needed. Turn off the heat and garnish with fresh curry leaves.
- 9. To prepare the appam batter, combine rice flour, yeast, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Gradually add water to form a smooth batter. Cover and let it ferment for 8 hours or overnight.
- 10. Once fermented, heat a non-stick appam pan on medium heat. Pour a ladle of batter into the center, swirling the pan to spread it thinly along the edges. Cover with a lid and cook for 2-3 minutes until the edges are crisp and the center is fluffy.
- 11. Serve the Fish Moilee hot with freshly prepared appams.
