Ingredients
- 1 l Homogenised Toned Milk
- 100g Satyam Sabja (Basil Seeds): 100 Gms
- 100 g Cornflour
- 500 G Organic Sugar / Khandsari 500 G
- 500G Madhur Sugar
Instructions
- 1. Soak 2 tablespoons of Satyam Sabja (basil seeds) in 1 cup of water for 30 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent clumping. Once the seeds swell and develop a gelatinous coating, strain them using a fine mesh sieve and set aside.
- 2. In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of cornflour with 1/4 cup of water until smooth and lump-free.
- 3. Transfer the cornflour mixture to a saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens and becomes transparent. This should take about 3-5 minutes.
- 4. Once the cornflour mixture is cooked, immediately transfer it to a colander or a piping bag fitted with a small nozzle. Press the mixture through into a bowl of ice water to form thin strands. Let the strands solidify in the ice water for 10 minutes, then strain and set aside.
- 5. In a separate saucepan, heat 2 cups of Homogenised Toned Milk over medium heat. Add 2 tablespoons of Madhur Sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Once the milk is heated but not boiling, remove it from the heat and allow it to cool to room temperature. Then, transfer the milk to the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes.
- 6. To assemble the falooda, take a tall glass and begin layering the ingredients. Start with 2 tablespoons of the prepared basil seeds at the bottom of the glass.
- 7. Add 2 tablespoons of the cornflour strands on top of the basil seeds.
- 8. Drizzle 1-2 tablespoons of Davinci Gourmet Peach Tea Flavoured Syrup over the cornflour strands.
- 9. Add a layer of crushed ice to the glass, filling it about halfway.
- 10. Pour the chilled milk into the glass, leaving some space at the top for additional toppings.
- 11. Optionally, top the falooda with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (ensure it is vegetarian if required) and drizzle additional peach tea-flavored syrup on top for extra sweetness.
- 12. Serve immediately with a long spoon and a straw. Enjoy your refreshing falooda!
