Ingredients

  • - Toned Milk
  • 100 Ml Gowardhan Ghee
  • 500 ml Groundnut Oil
  • 500 g Wheat Flour / Maida
  • 500 g Sugar

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large bowl, combine 500g of refined wheat flour (maida) with a pinch of cardamom powder for flavor.
  2. 2. Gradually add enough fresh toned milk to form a soft dough. Knead well until smooth.
  3. 3. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each piece into thin circles using a rolling pin.
  4. 4. Brush each rolled circle lightly with melted ghee. Stack 3-4 of these circles on top of each other.
  5. 5. Roll the stacked layers into a tight log and cut the log into 1-inch pieces.
  6. 6. Roll each piece gently, so you maintain layers and flatten it into small circles.
  7. 7. Heat cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  8. 8. Fry each chirote until it turns golden brown, then remove and drain excess oil on paper towels.
  9. 9. Quickly sprinkle the fried chirote with sugar while they're still warm, ensuring the sugar sticks.
  10. 10. Let the chirote cool completely before serving or storing them in an airtight container.
