Ingredients

  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 500 g Chicken Whole
  • 100 g Dhaniya Gavran Premium
  • 500 g Chana Dal
  • 200 ml Cow Ghee
  • 50 g Asafoetida Powder
  • medium Chilli Green Long
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 250 ml Lemon Juice Concentrate
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the chana dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. In a pot, combine the soaked chana dal, ground chicken, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, turmeric powder, and red chili powder. Add enough water to cover the ingredients and cook on medium heat until the dal is soft and the chicken is fully cooked, about 20-25 minutes.
  3. 3. Once cooked, allow the mixture to cool slightly and then blend it into a thick, coarse paste. Ensure the texture is smooth enough to hold together but not overly fine.
  4. 4. Transfer the paste to a mixing bowl and add garam masala, chopped green chili, fresh coriander leaves, lemon juice, and hing. Mix well to evenly combine the spices.
  5. 5. Divide the mixture into small portions and shape each into flat, round patties of equal size.
  6. 6. Heat ghee or oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Shallow fry the patties in batches, cooking each side for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crisp.
  7. 7. Serve the chicken shami kebabs hot with your favorite chutney or yogurt dip, garnished with additional coriander leaves if desired.
