Ingredients

  • 200Ml Kara Coconut Milk Classic (200ml)
  • 250 g Spinach
  • - Green Peas
  • 100 g Hing Khoda
  • 200 ml Ghee
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 500 g Capsicum Green
  • 20 g Cardamom Powder
  • 50 g Cumin Powder
  • 500 g Jaggery Powder
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the pearl barley thoroughly and soak it in warm water for 30 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. Heat ghee in a deep pan over medium heat. Add hing, turmeric powder, and cumin powder, stirring for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  3. 3. Add the soaked barley to the pan and stir well to coat it with the spices. Pour in enough water to cover the barley and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes until tender.
  4. 4. Once the barley is cooked, add the chopped spinach, bell pepper, and green peas to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender but still vibrant.
  5. 5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the coconut milk, grated jaggery, and cardamom powder. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
