Ingredients
- medium Chilli Green Long
- loose Ginger
- 500 g Chicken Whole
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 500 g Curd
- - Red Chilli Powder
- 1 l Refined Soyabean Oil
- 200 g Table Salt
- 50 g Cumin Powder
- 45 g Garam Masala
- - Coriander Powder
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
Instructions
- 1. Gather all ingredients: 500g chicken, 4-5 green chillies, 1-inch ginger, 1 tomato, 1/2 cup curd, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala, 2 tbsp oil, salt to taste, and fresh coriander leaves for garnish.
- 2. Wash the chicken thoroughly under running water and pat it dry with a clean kitchen towel. Cut it into medium-sized pieces and set aside.
- 3. Prepare the other ingredients: slit the green chillies lengthwise, finely chop the ginger, and dice the tomato. Keep them ready for use.
- 4. In a mixing bowl, combine the curd, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.
- 5. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
- 6. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a deep pan or kadhai over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the chopped ginger and sauté for 30 seconds until aromatic.
- 7. Add the slit green chillies to the pan and sauté for another 30 seconds, ensuring they do not burn.
- 8. Add the marinated chicken to the pan and mix well. Cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken starts to change color and is partially cooked.
- 9. Add the diced tomato to the pan and mix well. Cover the pan and reduce the heat to low. Let the chicken cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- 10. Once the chicken is cooked through, sprinkle garam masala over the dish and mix well. Cook for an additional 2 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- 11. Turn off the heat and garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
- 12. Serve hot with steamed rice, roti, or naan.
