- 1 kg Basmati Rice
- 500 g Onion
- - Vegetable Stock Cubes
- - Baby Tomatoes
- - Thyme Leaves
- 200 g Green Peas
- 1 kg Bell Peppers
- 200 g Table Salt
- 55 g Paprika Powder
- - Garlic Paste
Instructions
- 1. Rinse and soak the basmati rice in water for about 20 minutes, then drain it.
- 2. Heat 3 tablespoons of Patanjali Virgin Sesame Oil in a large pot.
- 3. Add finely sliced onions and sauté until they turn translucent.
- 4. Add minced garlic, grated Thai ginger, and curry leaves, stirring for about a minute until fragrant.
- 5. Add chopped tomatoes and red capsicum, cooking until the tomatoes are soft and the mixture is well combined.
- 6. Stir in paprika powder, salt (to taste), and crushed vegetable stock cubes.
- 7. Add fresh thyme and bay leaf to the mixture and stir.
- 8. Pour in approximately 4 cups of water, then bring it to a boil.
- 9. Add the drained basmati rice to the boiling mixture, stirring well to combine.
- 10. Add frozen green peas to the rice mixture, then reduce the heat to low.
- 11. Cover the pot with a lid, allowing it to simmer for about 25-30 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
- 12. Once cooked, fluff the rice with a fork and serve hot.
