Ingredients
- 500 ml Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 100 g Sambar Onion Peeled
- 100 g Garlic - Single Clove
- 75 Nos Oregano Sachet
- 250 g Vistevia Sugar Free Tomato Sauce
- 1 kg Tata Salt (Vacuum Evaporated Iodised)
Instructions
- 1. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- 2. Add 1 finely chopped onion and 2 minced garlic cloves to the pan. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened and fragrant.
- 3. Place 400 g of plum tomatoes in a blender and pulse until slightly chunky, ensuring not to puree completely.
- 4. Add the blended tomatoes, 400 ml of tomato sauce, 1 teaspoon of oregano, and 1 teaspoon of salt to the pan. Stir well to combine.
- 5. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 6. Once the sauce has thickened, stir in 3 tablespoons of grated cheese. Adjust seasoning if needed.
- 7. Serve the sauce hot over your favorite pasta or use it as a topping for vegetarian dishes.
